Author’s Biographical Esquisse
Born on Guam Island shortly after the end of WW II, JC is the eldest son of a USAF jet fighter pilot and a high school English teacher. He attended an American high school in England during the birth of the Beatles, where he acquired a taste for foreign travel. Coming by the wanderlust honestly, he returned to the U.S. to attend architecture school before beginning his career at St. Simons Island, GA.
While living in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex area, JC earned his master’s degree in architecture twenty years after receiving his undergraduate degree. As a practicing architect for over forty-five years, JC completed diversified groups of project types in the public and private sectors for clients from New York to Hong Kong.
In 2014, JC began his digital edition of Henry Adams 1913 Mont-Saint-Michel and Chartres, enhancing his research in 2015 with a sabbatical to Paris and Normandy. By 2020, JC had retired from practice, determined to complete his passion project and expand Adams’s printed word into the multi-media world of the internet. In 2022, JC published his initial PDF edition of Henry Adams’ work, and in 2025, JC decided to relaunch his Henry Adams’ Mont-Saint-Michel and Chartres, the Annotated and Illustrated Edition. This new AdamsChartres website supports an expanded book’s portfolio of offerings, including additional historical background articles and a blog page not previously offered.
